Virtual PenPals, Google maps, and Digital Story

Hey ladies...we have a lot to do this week and should probably get a start on it. We need to think of an assignment (staying within our topic) that we would do with our class to demonstrate global awareness, and then make a google map to go along with that. What kind of assignment should we do?
Then we need to each make a minute long movie on different topics that would introduce a lesson in our unit. Do you think it would be okay to just stick with the topics we did our lesson plans on?

Lesson Plan

Okay ladies...I'm thinking I'm just going to start a lesson plan today because I work pretty much all weekend and won't have time. I know we are all a little confused on what we are supposed to do, but having something is better than nothing. I think we should do different ideas from the concept map. A person, place, event, or even the advertising part. I think I am going to start doing one on people if you ladies don't mind. I think what I will do for the lesson plan is not actually research a person, but have the students research important people, and then find the clothing, games, etc like we talked about in the concept map. Maybe I will research one person as an example? Let me know what you're thinking!

So this week we each need to create a lesson plan on that task stream that has to do with our topic.  We each have to do it on a different topic. Once of us could do it on the clothes? or a certain person? or a famous building? Lets work together to throw around some ideas!

Hey ladies! I got an email back..this is what it said:

You will be thinking of what big project students will be working towards ..... for example, they could be working towards a "living" museum, where they research a specific person or even a place in the Kalamazoo area, research the type of clothing or architecture for the time era.... for people find out what games they played growing up, what schools in the area they went to, etc. Then in the end, students could dress up as the person, or create a miniature of the place. The community could be invited to come and see the "living" museum (as people stop by each students area, a button could be pushed or a bell rung, and then that person would tell about themselves (as the person) or about the building (a a curator). Students would also have to learn about advertising, organizing, etc. to complete the project. Hope this helps.
